SOFO Women’s Wine Nights has now celebrated four events. Our first evening of wine, women and conversation took place on April 3, 2008 when 13 women from the South Fort Myers area gathered together to celebrate the “SOFO Girls Wine Hour”. We had a few appetizers, a number of really enjoyable wines and a great time.
By June 5, 2008 our group had grown to 20 people. Linda’s friend Betsy was also with us from California to celebrate her retirement. By the end of the evening, everyone had made new friends.
December 8, 2008 was the first annual holiday event, and there was plenty of holiday cheer on hand. Our numbers continued to grow and over 20 women were here to enjoy the evening. We sipped some excellent wines, ate lots of festive goodies amidst the holiday decorations and music. We also graduated to become “SOFO Women’s Wine Night”.
On June 1, 2009, Linda held her “summer stimulus package” SOFO wine night and about 25 people drank their share of great wine, ate plenty of appetizers and talked and laughed until 9:30 PM. “SOFO women” now includes many who work together, some are sorority sisters and many who have met through enjoying great wines at Austin’s Wine Cellar wine tastings and seminars.
